Electricity delivered gradually from the grid or renewables is converted into high-pressure compressed air, which is stored in gas cylinders. When an electric vehicle needs to be charged, compressed air from the gas cylinders will be expanded to power the turbine-boosted flywheel, which converts the air back to electricity to provide required peak power and charge a vehicle within tens of minutes.
